Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Lecturer in Special Needs Education role is based in Kuala Lumpur. The individual in this position will design, deliver, and continuously improve undergraduate and postgraduate courses in special needs education, using inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lectures and course materials, conducting seminars and tutorials, supervising student projects or theses, and providing academic advising to learners. The Senior Lecturer will engage in curriculum development, contribute to programme review and accreditation activities, and participate in departmental and university committees. The role also includes conducting research in special needs education, publishing in reputable academic outlets, pursuing grants, and building partnerships with schools, community organizations, and professional bodies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced academic qualifications in Special Needs Education or closely related fields (preferably a PhD or equivalent), with strong grounding in inclusive education and educational psychology.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence at tertiary level, including experience designing curricula, assessments, and learning activities for diverse learners.
  • Proven research track record in special needs or inclusive education, evidenced by publications, presentations, or funded projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, schools, and community partners, and to contribute to programme development and accreditation processes.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student-centered learning and equity in education.
  • Familiarity with current policies, practices, and technologies related to special needs and inclusive education in Malaysia and internationally.
  • Experience supervising postgraduate research and guiding early-career academics is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kuala Lumpur and participate fully in university academic and administrative activities.
