An established international organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to support its growing global business operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with strong expertise in international trade, cross-border transactions and corporate legal matters to work on complex, high-value projects across multiple jurisdictions.
*This role requires relocation to Singapore*
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate international commercial contracts and provide legal advice on cross-border transactions
- Support cross-border M&A activities, including legal due diligence, transaction documentation and legal opinions
- Manage international trade disputes, including litigation, arbitration, negotiations and enforcement matters
- Partner with and manage external counsel across various jurisdictions
- Advise on overseas investment projects and support business expansion initiatives
- Drive global compliance programmes, including export controls, antitrust and other regulatory matters
- Provide legal support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters as required
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, the US or another recognized common law jurisdiction
- At least 3 years post-qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or multinational corporation
- Strong knowledge of international trade, cross-border investments and commercial law
- Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious legal matters
- Exposure to commodity trading or cross-border M&A will be highly advantageous
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) to communicate with English and Chinese-speaking stakeholders
