JOB TYPE:
8 Months Renewable contract
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- End-to-End Onboarding: Execute the full lifecycle of Linux server provisioningfrom initial OS installation and partitioning (LVM/RAID) to final production hand-off.
- System Hardening & Security: Implement security baselines (CIS benchmarks), manage SSH access, configure firewalls (firewalld/iptables), and ensure regular patch management.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash/Python) and configuration management playbooks (Ansible/Puppet/Chef) to standardize deployments.
- Level 3 Support: Act as the final escalation point for complex Linux-related performance issues, kernel tuning, and filesystem troubleshooting.
- Inter-team Collaboration: Partner with the Networking team to troubleshoot VLAN tagging and routing issues at the OS level, and with the Lead to provide granular task updates.
- Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for server builds and disaster recovery
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a specialization in software. Fresh graduates may also apply
- Minium 5+ years in Linux Administration, managing enterprise Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, or Debian).
- Automation: High proficiency in Ansible (preferred) and Bash scripting. Experience with Python for automation is a significant plus.
- Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Load Balancing from a Linux host perspective.
- Storage Management: Advanced knowledge of Logical Volume Management (LVM), NFS, and iSCSI/Fibre Channel storage attachment.
- Virtualization: Experience managing Linux guests within VMware or Nutanix environments.
