We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, network security, and Linux-based platforms. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership in designing, implementing, and supporting modern network security solutions, with strong expertise in Linux networking, cloud-native networking, and open-source security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network and security platforms.
- Provide technical leadership for Linux-based networking and security infrastructure.
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures.
- Implement and manage cloud-native networking and security solutions.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot firewall, intrusion detection, and network monitoring platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and security teams to deliver secure networking solutions.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and performance optimization for network and security environments.
- Develop technical standards, architecture documentation, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, Linux systems, and network security.
- Strong experience with NixOS administration and system configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Cilium for Kubernetes networking, security, and observability.
- Experience deploying and managing Suricata for Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention (IDS/IPS).
- Strong knowledge of nftables for Linux firewall configuration and network packet filtering.
- Experience with Zeek (formerly Bro) for network traffic analysis, monitoring, and threat detection.
- Strong understanding of Linux networking concepts, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting complex networking and security issues in production environments.
- Knowledge of container platforms, Kubernetes, and cloud-native networking is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or scripting using Bash/Python is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as RHCE, CKA, CKS, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
- Experience working in enterprise, cloud, or managed services environments.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, and security best practices.
- Experience with SIEM, monitoring, and observability platforms is an added advantage.
