About the Role
We are assisting a well-established manufacturing company in hiring a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to lead the upkeep, reliability, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and production equipment.
This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, preventive/predictive maintenance, and technical leadership across a highly automated, fast-paced plant environment. You will work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure high equipment availability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical troubleshooting and repair activities for machinery, rotating equipment, utilities, and plant systems.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Oversee maintenance of pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other mechanical assets.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new machines or mechanical components.
- Coordinate work with vendors, contractors, and OEMs for technical issues or major repairs.
- Maintain maintenance logs, spare parts inventory, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tag-out, safe work procedures, and risk assessments.
- Provide guidance and coaching to technicians to improve team capability and technical skillsets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, equipment optimization, and cost reduction.
General Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 35 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Rotating equipment
- Hydraulics & pneumatics
- Mechanical drives & power transmission
- Predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, alignment, etc.)
- Experience supporting automated production lines, machining processes, or assembly environments is an advantage.
