Job Description

Responsibilities:

Reserve Management

• Assist in developing a robust process of actuarial valuation for Generali Insurance Malaysia that meets the Central Bank's as well as Group's guidelines

• Ensure that adequate controls are in place through periodic validation of methodology, data points, process and output for actuarial reserve and valuation in line with guidelines

Financial Projection Management

• Assist in validating and reviewing business plans of existing operations from an actuarial perspective including loss ratios selection and reinsurance optimisation etc.

Financial Condition Reporting

• Assist in completing the Financial Condition Report in a timely manner, which includes performing actuarial pricing review that meets the Central Bank's and Group's guidelines and ensures long term profitability

Others

• Conduct ad-hoc investigations and analyses as required by the Management

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Head of Actuarial and Actuarial Managers

Compliance

• Ensure consistency in processes and policies for compliance to relevant statutory regulations of the Central Bank and Group guidelines pertaining to Actuarial function

Qualification and Experience Requirement

Education

• Preferably a Degree in quantitative discipline such as Actuarial, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Insurance, Risk Management etc.

• Member of an Actuarial Institute or Society recognised by Insurance Act 1996/Financial Services Act, with good progress in passing Actuarial Professional Examinations.

Experience

• At least 7 years general insurance valuation experience.

• Understands local insurance markets and Central Bank¡¦s requirements

Skills

• Have good understanding of IFRS 17 valuation.

• Good knowledge of valuation and pricing for general insurance liabilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and under pressure

• Motivational skills

• Able to manage a team.
