We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Contract Logistics Senior Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team in Malaysia. This role will be responsible for managing and growing the Johor and Singapore markets, focusing on acquiring new customers, nurturing existing client relationships, and driving business growth within the contract logistics sector. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to Singapore regularly to develop business opportunities, meet clients, and strengthen customer relationships.
Your expertise in understanding client needs and delivering tailored logistics solutions will be key to expanding our client base, securing new business, and maintaining long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve Sales Targets: Responsible for achieving and exceeding the sales targets set by the company.
- Market Development: Manage and develop the Johor and Singapore markets, identifying market opportunities and expanding the company's contract logistics business presence.
- New Business Development: Proactively identify, target, and generate leads to acquire new customers through cold calling, networking, email campaigns, referrals, and other sales channels.
- Sales Presentations & Proposals: Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that address the specific needs and goals of potential customers.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, understand their evolving logistics needs, and ensure high levels of satisfaction to secure repeat business.
- Logistics Solutions Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of contract logistics services, including warehousing, distribution, transportation, and supply chain management, to design tailored solutions for clients.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with clients to secure profitable and mutually beneficial agreements.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive services to identify new opportunities and provide effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure successful execution of contracts and customer satisfaction.
- Client Feedback: Continuously gather client feedback to improve services and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with relevant departments to develop customized solutions aligned with clients objectives and business requirements.
- Travel: Travel regularly to Singapore and within Johor to meet clients, develop new business opportunities, and support market growth.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in sales and business development within the logistics, supply chain, contract logistics, or freight forwarding industries.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Johor and Singapore logistics markets, with an established network and knowledge of local business opportunities being an advantage.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of contract logistics services, including warehousing, distribution, transportation, and supply chain solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Sales Expertise: Proven track record of identifying business opportunities, closing deals, and managing client relationships.
- Negotiation & Relationship Management: Strong negotiation and consultative selling skills, with a focus on developing long-term client relationships.
- Proactive & Results-driven: Self-motivated, commercially driven, and proactive in generating new business and exceeding sales targets.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple business opportunities simultaneously.
- Mobility: Willing and able to travel regularly to Singapore as required by the business.
