Job Description

Role Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Malaysia will act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing HR guidance and support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong stakeholder management, hands-on execution, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with regional HR teams. The role involves working closely with ground-level stakeholders to support operational needs and drive engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on HR-related matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage employee relations, including handling unions and supporting union-related negotiations and agreements.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including organizing focus groups and engagement activities for blue-collar employees.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
  • Work closely with different stakeholders on the ground to address operational HR needs and foster strong engagement.
  • Be flexible to travel across Malaysia (e.g., Penang and other locations) to meet mechanics and employees, building trust and understanding challenges firsthand.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of HR experience, with strong exposure to employee relations and union handling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in driving employee engagement and conducting focus groups.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel across Malaysia as required.
