Position Summary:
Leading a team of materials, process and characterization experts as a part of a global team managing all industrialization and manufacturing aspects of best-in-class Wafer & phosphor conversion technologies to meet product performance requirements and technology roadmap for flux and color control. Define directions and short/long term objectives on yield, cost, quality, efficiency for team to achieve. Ensure effective use of materials, equipment, and processes in producing quality products at minimum process steps. Select, develop, and evaluate engineering personnel to ensure efficient operation.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and support any and all industrialization aspects of product and technology introduction to high volume manufacturing.
- Contribute to product development planning and roadmap by identifying appropriate phosphor, materials and integration technology, identifying risks and validating product specification against capability.
- Steer the programs from R&D through to successful release to manufacturing including implementation of good process control, yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement & excursion prevention plans.
- Manage multiple projects at the same time, set strategic and tactical priorities, coordinate resource planning and interface closely with the management team. Update management of progress in team activities timely and flag for management attention appropriately.
- Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.
What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications):
- 3-5 years of management experience; proven ability to guide a team, to mentor junior engineers, to design experiments and to prepare reports.
- Working knowledge of LED or related semiconductor processes including DFSS, design for quality, design for manufacturability and design for cost.
- Working knowledge on structured improvement and problem solving approach including Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Process Flow, Control Plan and Failure Mode Effect & Analysis.
- Strong command of the English language and able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and in presentations.
- Strong project management, interpersonal skills and ability to lead cross-functional and global teams.
- Knowledge of phosphor conversion technologies and associated wafer/ceramic processing. The focus is integration and industrialization of state of the art and next-gen phosphor conversion processes that are cost-effective along with best in class flux and color control.
- Structure chemical knowledge in solid state silicates and raw materials
Education (Minimum Level)
Field of Study
- Engineering (Material/Chemical) or Science (Physics/Chemistry/Materials) with at least 10 years of relevant experience
Years of Experience (Minimum)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in phosphor/powder synthesis strategies on research level
- Knowledge in nitride (protective gas atmosphere) processes
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with BB or GB (6 sigma).
- Experience in ISO/TS 116949 audit requirements.
