About the Role
The Senior Portfolio Manager, in close partnership with the rest of the Group Cloud & Infrastructure function and other key stakeholders, coordinates the effective and efficient operation of the portfolio management practices, and primarily provides support for the AIA Technology, Digital, and (Data) Analytics Steering Committee, Group IT Operation Steering Committee and other senior governance constructs, particularly in providing them with factually accurate artefacts in a timely manner, enabling informed decision-making up to the AIA Directors, Business Unit CTOs and other senior level. The role holder needs to be able to communicate confidently at all levels.
The Senior Portfolio Manager, in close partnership with other Group IT Operations function, ensures a consistent, fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use approach to business case, benefit, spend, resource and IT management are applied across the portfolio and program. The role holder adds value by ability to identify opportunities, mitigate threats and deliver effective strategies to desired outcomes.
The Senior Portfolio Manager is entrusted by the Portfolio Sponsor or Program Sponsor in leading program delivery within agreed constraints and tolerances. The purpose of this role is to lead the direct and indirect teams to successfully deliver the agreed products within the tolerances of scope, time, cost and quality, accounting for both risks and benefits accrued. The output(s), in turn, must be capable of achieving the intended business outcome(s) and benefit(s).
Roles and Responsibilities
Serve as TDA Technology Workstream Delegate for Cloud Adoption and EoL of Group and Business Units under their management
Oversee and monitor KPI, investment, priority, risk and issue for Cloud Adoption, EoL and any other goals.
Ensure that local IT teams deliver on their commitments, take initiative, follow through with CTOs/Teams and respond to direction/guidance/support required
Manage Group IT Operations and Group Cloud & Infrastructure Portfolio for various tasks and programs, such as:
Meeting
Group Monthly Steering Committee Meeting
TDA Group and Business Unit Steering Committee Meeting
Quarterly CEO - CTO Update Meeting
Quarterly Group Technology and Operations Townhall
Quarterly Group Technology Group Finance Spend Review Meeting
Monthly Business Unit CTO Engagement Meeting
Business Unit Working Group for specific tasks or deliverables
Program
Microsoft Service Assurance Program
Cloud Academy Program
On Premise Cost Reduction Program
Cloud Saving Program (FinOps and Architecture Ops)
Owning
Internal and external communications, award nomination, compliance, audit, governance etc that related to Cloud and Infrastructure
Other complex initiatives assigned by Head of Group IT Operations or Director of Cloud & Infrastructure
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience - Between ten to fifteen years of work experience at a minimum, with a minimum of eight to ten years in a managerial role. These could be in individual contributor role(s) at senior levels of the organization with broad accountability and responsibilities for program and portfolio management of cloud and infrastructure. Experience in leading other managers would be preferable.
Behavior and Competencies -Strategic and creative thinking, thought leadership in field of expertise, and able to deliver collaboratively and at speed (as well as through others) under minimum supervision. Excellent engagement and communication skills, i.e. comfortable with a broad range of cross-functional internal and external stakeholders at different levels of seniority, highly analytical, and able to deliver (and deliver through others). Comfort in working with on-site team and remote team, as well as with stakeholders dispersed across Asia.
Linguistics skills - Fluent in spoken and written English
Education - Undergraduate qualification in any field essential, although (additional) postgraduate qualification(s) would be preferable. Practical knowledge in information technology, cloud, infrastructure, strategy management, business analyst, project management (including Business Case), program management, finance management, resource management, service management, vendor management, change and communication management gained through experience of training
