JOB PURPOSE
Lead and drive the planning, organization, and execution of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Financial Risk Management, Sustainability Risk Management (SRM), and Project Risk Assessment (PRA) within the Group, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and alignment with strategic objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement the Group's Risk Management System and Policy to ensure consistent risk management practices integrated into decision-making processes.
- Identify, monitor, and address risk exposures by establishing business continuity and sustainability plans with relevant departments, targeting critical business functions.
- Oversee risk profiling exercises and maintain the Group risk register to track, manage, and update identified risks effectively.
- Enhance and monitor ERM practices in line with recommendations from the Risk Committee (RC), Board Risk Committee (BRC), and industry standards for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Group HSSE Department to develop, maintain, and enhance the Crisis Management Plan (CMP), ensuring preparedness for potential crises.
- Conduct periodic crisis management tests (e.g., bi-annual Call Tree Testing, annual walkthroughs) aligned with the Group's Crisis Management Framework.
- Lead the development and improvement of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for the Group, ensuring the ability to recover from prolonged disruptions to business operations.
- Conduct regular business continuity management tests (e.g., bi-annual Call Tree Testing, annual walkthroughs) as part of the Business Continuity Management Framework.
- Develop and oversee Pre-Award / Project Risk Registers and Risk Assessment in Decision Making (RADM) to support decision-making for projects and bids.
- Coordinate and champion project risk management throughout the Group, ensuring continuous improvement of PRA documentation and processes.
- Collaborate and liaise with Petronas Risk and Sustainability Department to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks into MHB Group's risk management practices, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals.
- Manage and implement initiatives related to ESG risks and Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to support the MHB Group's sustainability vision.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage financial risks, including interest rate, liquidity, and foreign exchange risks, to safeguard the Group's financial stability.
- Monitor and assess financial exposures and work closely with relevant teams to develop risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Risk team, ensuring they possess the skills and expertise to execute their roles effectively and contribute to the company's financial stability.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field
- Professional certification in Risk Management (e.g., CRMP, CRM, or similar) or Financial Risk Management (e.g., FRM) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience preferably some years in a public accounting firm (Big Four), and/or a Multinational Corporation
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial position
- Proven expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks, including operational, financial, strategic, compliance, and market risks.
- Strong background in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures across an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, perform root cause analysis, and develop strategies to address potential risks.
- Experience in leading enterprise risk management (ERM) programs, including monitoring risk indicators and reporting to senior leadership.
