Senior Manager, Business Development (East Malaysia Operations)

The Mission

The Senior Manager, Business Development (East Malaysia) will be the primary architect of our expansion within the Sabah energy sector. This leadership role is responsible for the strategic positioning of our premium mechanical and process solutions—including Sundyne, Milton Roy, HMD Kontro and others—to major asset owners and operators. You will navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the Sabah Oil & Gas ecosystem, securing high-value technical contracts through superior stakeholder management and deep technical-commercial expertise.

Key Responsibility Dimensions

  • Strategic Market Positioning & Revenue Growth: Formulate a 3–5 year growth strategy for Sabah, targeting high-margin brownfield and greenfield projects. Lead the technical specification lock-in of core rotating equipment (API 610/685) during FEED phases.
  • Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the lead corporate representative to SMJ Energy, SOGSC, and PETRONAS, ensuring our JV is positioned as a Preferred Technical Partner.
  • Commercial Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of high-complexity tenders and identify below-the-radar opportunities within the PSC community.
  • Technical Advocacy: Promote the Sundyne and Milton Roy lines, emphasizing Lifecycle Cost (LCC) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to client engineering teams.
  • Position is also expandable to Sarawak opportunities

Education & Experience Prerequisites

  • Academic Foundation:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory). Professional Engineer (Ir.) or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Industry Tenure:8–12 years of progressive experience in Oil & Gas, specifically within the East Malaysian market.
  • Domain Authority: Demonstrated technical command of Rotating Equipment (centrifugal pumps/compressors) and Flow Control/Injection Systems. In-depth knowledge of API Standards is essential.
  • Strategic Network: An existing, high-level professional network within Sabah regulatory bodies and major operators (e.g., Shell, Petronas Carigali, Hibiscus).

Success Measures & KPIs

  • Revenue Architecture: Accountable for the Sabah market-entry revenue roadmap and high-margin equipment sales.
  • Market Share Capture: Securing technical specification status for our portfolio across the Sabah asset ecosystem.
  • Customer Engagement & Advocacy: Transitioning from Vendor to Strategic Technical Partner status with SMJ Energy and Petronas.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Successful navigation of local content requirements and regulatory hurdles.

What Success Looks Like

  1. Revenue Generation: You will own the Sabah P&L for our flagship product lines, translating technical superiority into multimillion-ringgit wins.
  2. Deep Engagement: You will move beyond transactional sales to build trust-based relationships with Technical Authorities and C-Suite stakeholders across East Malaysia.
