About the Role
The Senior Manager, Vendor Management will lead a team and create strategic plan for Procurement, Performance System & Claims, performance system and claims standards, through:
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing:
• Consolidate current demand and forecast future demands (2-5 years).
• Identifies opportunities for local manufacturing and ICV.
• Develop/ manage cross functional teams for specific categories.
• Develop Category Strategy for key spend categories e.g. Drilling.
• Monitor Category Performance.
• Receive and interpret data and market insights, Supply Market Analysis.
• Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories.
• Develops and Selects Strategic Sourcing Process (es).
• Negotiate with and Select Suppliers considering local manufacturing and ICV.
• Design exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
• Ensure product availability.
• Strategize positioning of a product category in order to maximize its visibility.
• Collaborate with the marketing & drilling team.
• Implementation and Integration.
• Benchmarking Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities.
• Work with customers and merchandisers and find new ways of expanding product categories.
Planning:
• Collects procurement plans from all business units.
• Review the demand to ensure it has the necessary approvals.
• Consolidate the demand and divides it among the different sections within the procurement function for execution.
• Working with all stakeholders to ensure that the demand is realistic and if new contracts should be put in place.
• Planning, scheduling and coordinating for timely delivery of contracts.
• Ensures that the right procurement controls are in place.
• Responsible for post-investment reviews to provide timely insights into the performance of investments in retrospect.
• Rigorous strategic sourcing execution and supplier negotiations focusing on establishing hard performance commitments.
• Support stakeholders by giving advice on claims related with vendors for early resolution
• Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required.
• Report on contract specific indicators and KPI's to relevant stakeholders and maintains a list of good and poor performing contractors based on contract performance reviews.
• Lead & contribute to the development and implementation of Insurance Certificate & Performance bond Management
Vendor Strategy Development:
• Develop and implement vendor management strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
• Identify strategic vendors and suppliers that meet the organization's requirements for quality, cost, and service.
• Establish and maintain a vendor portfolio, including evaluating vendor capabilities, assessing risks, and conducting vendor assessments.
Vendor Selection and Contract Negotiation:
• Lead vendor selection processes, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating vendor proposals, and selecting preferred vendors.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all vendor contracts and agreements.
Vendor Performance Management:
• Monitor vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), SLAs, and contractual obligations.
• Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and assessments, providing feedback and guidance for improvement as needed.
• Address vendor issues, disputes, and escalations in a timely and effective manner, collaborating with internal stakeholders as necessary.
Relationship Management:
• Cultivate strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact for vendor interactions.
• Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between internal teams and vendors to ensure alignment on project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and value creation with strategic vendors.
Risk Management and Compliance:
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all vendor-related activities.
• Develop and implement vendor risk management strategies to safeguard organizational interests.
Vendor Relationship Governance:
• Establish governance frameworks and processes for managing vendor relationships effectively.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and decision-making structures for vendor management within the organization.
• Develop performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track vendor performance and compliance.
Continuous Improvement:
• Continuously assess and optimize vendor management processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation in vendor management practices.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline vendor onboarding, performance evaluation, and relationship management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
Required Skills
• Skills in Supply Chain Technology, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse & Inventory.
Experience
• Proven experience in vendor management, category management, building should cost model, industry cost profile models, commercial evaluation model, contract optimization review with at least 10 years experience.
• Procurement department transformation and change management from Operational to Strategic.
