Job Description

In this position, you will join our Buildings business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that bring ideas to life for our clients across all types of projects. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects in the capacity of Mechanical engineering from initial scoping through detailed design and commissioning and handover across a wide variety of projects, including preparation of technical specifications, reports, and estimates.
  • Involved in tender preparation and negotiations with clients to achieve commercially profitable business objectives.
  • Engage directly with clients and colleagues to deliver successful outcomes to contribute to work winning and market development.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on engineering projects, including feasibility studies, design reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and analyze mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and project team members to deliver successful projects.
  • Act as a technical expert to mentor and develop other Mechanical engineers within the team, and provide Mechanical design expertise in overseeing all technical aspects of projects
  • Provide client consultation by drawing on professional expertise and deep knowledge of Aurecon's consultancy services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with at least 8 -10 years related professional experience in buildings services
  • A strong background in building Mechanical design within a consulting environment will be advantageous.
  • A strong interest in working on innovative, energy efficient and sustainable projects.
  • Project leadership and management experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • You should be pro-active with the ability to work independently or part of a team and possess good communication skills and business acumen.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, proven business development and account management skills.
  • High level of computer literacy and exposure to BIM / Revit will be highly desired, with advanced problem-solving skills through investigation and analysis.
  • Literacy in the use of digital tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Naviswork, BIM360 and drive BIM processes.
  • Strong ability in navigating 3D BIM model to review multi-disciplinary design, identify issues, provide solutions and delegate the design team to resolve them.
