Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) will be responsible for the design, specification, selection, and technical support of rotating equipment for offshore and/or FPSO projects. This role ensures all engineering activities are executed in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities related to rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and generators
- Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, and requisitions
- Perform vendor evaluation, bid clarification, and technical recommendation
- Review and approve vendor drawings and documents
- Ensure equipment design complies with API, ISO, and project specifications
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
- Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and risk assessments
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, electrical, instrumentation)
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for rotating equipment issues
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in oil & gas, offshore, or FPSO projects
- Strong experience with rotating equipment design and packages
- Familiar with international standards (API 610, API 617, API 618, etc.)
- Experience in FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases
- Good understanding of vendor management and procurement processes
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on FPSO / offshore projects
- Prior experience in package engineering or OEM collaboration
- Knowledge of condition monitoring and reliability engineering
