Senior Mobile Engineer - Android

Project Description:

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.

The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities:

1. Android Mobile Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Android mobile banking applications.

• Develop application features using:

- Kotlin

- Java

• Build reusable, scalable, and secure mobile application components.

2. Application Enhancement & Delivery

• Support project delivery, enhancement requests, and defect fixes.

• Analyse business and technical requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

• Ensure high-quality and secure mobile application delivery.

3. Build & Deployment Automation

• Support mobile build and deployment automation processes.

- Work with:

- Gradle

- Apache Maven

- Firebase

- Fastlane

Support CI/CD implementation for Android application deployment.

4. DevOps & Agile Practices

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Support DevOps processes and release management activities.

• Coordinate with QA, infrastructure, and release teams.

5. Testing & Production Support

• Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT activities.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide bug fixes.

• Ensure application performance, stability, and reliability.

6. Environment & Platform Support

• Work within enterprise environments including:

- HPUX

- Linux

- Solaris

Mandatory Skills Description:

• 6-9 years of experience in Android mobile application development

• Strong hands-on experience in:

• Android development

- Kotlin

- Java

• Experience in enterprise or Digital Banking mobile applications

• Strong understanding of mobile application lifecycle and deployment

• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Experience with:

- Gradle

- Apache Maven

- Firebase

- Fastlane

• Exposure to:

- CI/CD for mobile deployment

- DevOps practices

- Agile methodologies

• Experience in Digital Banking domain
