Role Purpose -

We are seeking an experienced L3 Network Engineer with deep expertise in firewalls, routing, switching, and packet analysis (Wireshark) combined with strong knowledge of Information Security compliance (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and other regulatory audits). This role demands technical excellence in networking alongside hands-on involvement in security audits, controls, and compliance readiness activities.

Responsibilities we entrust you with -

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex Layer 3 networks (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRFs, etc.).
  • Manage, configure, and maintain enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or equivalent).
  • Analyze network packet captures using Wireshark for troubleshooting and security incident investigations.
  • Perform proactive network performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for firewall rule reviews, policy updates, and network segmentation based on security best practices.
  • Support and drive Information Security audits (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.) from a network security standpoint.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating network security policies, procedures, and compliance documents.
  • Perform vulnerability management and remediation support related to network devices.
  • Work closely with the Security and Compliance teams to ensure continuous compliance and readiness for external/internal audits.
  • Document network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configurations, and audit evidence packages.
  • Mentor and guide Level 1 and Level 2 engineers on network troubleshooting and security practices.

What matters in the role -

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and enterprise switching (VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP, etc.).
  • Extensive firewall experience policies, NAT, VPNs, SSL inspection (Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco preferred).
  • Proficient in packet analysis and troubleshooting using Wireshark.
  • Solid understanding of network security controls, including segmentation, firewall auditing, VPN configurations, etc.
  • Practical exposure to security compliance frameworks like PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC 2.
  • Strong documentation skills diagrams (Visio/Lucidchart), audit reports, runbooks, and design documents.
  • Good knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and remediation techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple audits, evidence collection, and remediation tasks in parallel.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Certifications (Bonus Points):

  • CCNP (Enterprise/Security) or higher (CCIE).
  • Fortinet NSE4/NSE5, Palo Alto PCNSE.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or similar audit-related certifications.
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or PCI DSS Internal Security Assessor (ISA).
