Job Description
Job Summary**
As a Personal Banker at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individual clients, providing comprehensive financial advice, and offering suitable banking products and services to meet their needs and financial goals.
Job Responsibilities**
- Acquire new individual customers and deepen relationships with existing clients through proactive engagement and needs-based selling.
- Provide personalized financial advice on a range of banking products, including deposits, loans, investments, insurance, and digital banking solutions.
- Conduct thorough financial needs analysis for clients to identify suitable products and services that align with their risk appetite and financial objectives.
- Process banking transactions accurately and efficiently, including account opening, loan applications, and investment product subscriptions.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines.
- Achieve individual and team sales targets for various banking products and services.
- Stay updated on market trends, product knowledge, and competitor offerings to provide informed advice to clients.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues as necessary.
- Actively participate in marketing campaigns and promotional activities to drive business growth.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role within the banking or financial services industry, preferably as a Personal Banker or similar.
- Basic understanding of banking products and services, including deposits, loans, investments, and insurance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Demonstrated sales acumen and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good command of English and Mandarin; proficiency in other local languages is an advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIMM, PCE, CUTE) are a distinct advantage.
