Senior Oracle Cloud Architect / Engineer / DBA

We are currently seeking a Senior Oracle Cloud Architect / Engineer / DBA to join our client who is a a global healthcare technology organization and play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and evolving our Oracle Cloud infrastructure and enterprise application environments.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Oracle Cloud Architect / Engineer / DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle Cloud environments supporting business-critical applications.
You will serve as a technical leader across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), database administration, enterprise application support, and cloud operations. This role requires deep hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud ERP environments, database architecture, upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
You will collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, application development, and business technology teams across multiple regions and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments, ensuring platform health, reliability, and scalability.
- Support production environments by maintaining required uptime, backup, recovery, security, and performance standards.
- Perform advanced Oracle database administration including:
- Database maintenance
- Backup and recovery
- Cloning
- Patching
- Tablespace and storage management
- Performance tuning
- Database configuration and monitoring
- Ensure database resources are appropriately sized and optimized for large-scale enterprise workloads.
- Maintain Oracle standard architecture, security controls, and cloud best practices.
- Execute database and system health checks, identify improvement opportunities, and implement optimization strategies.
- Manage Oracle Cloud integrations, configurations, and ongoing platform enhancements.
- Support Oracle Cloud ERP upgrades, migrations, and cutover activities.
- Drive improvements to upgrade processes, including reducing downtime through automation and process optimization.
- Execute SaaS and OCI cloning activities.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot failures, and drive issues through resolution.
- Manage patching activities, quarterly Oracle releases, and security updates.
- Implement and test disaster recovery strategies, backup solutions, and data integrity processes.
- Manage access controls, user roles, authorizations, audits, and security configurations.
- Support Oracle Cloud developers with:
- Custom development activities
- Code migration
- Workflow configuration
- Concurrent processing
- Technical troubleshooting
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and development teams to deliver stable and secure enterprise platforms.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to security assessments and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Cloud Engineer, Oracle DBA, or Cloud Infrastructure specialist.
- Hands-on experience managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms.
- Proven experience supporting Oracle Cloud ERP environments.
- Experience completing at least two Oracle upgrade cycles, including planning and execution.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Oracle Cloud architecture
- Oracle ERP application infrastructure
- Database cloning and patching
- Backup and recovery strategies
- Disaster recovery planning
- Performance tuning
- SQL profiling and optimization
- ODI, FAW/ADW environments
- Experience supporting concurrent managers, workflows, integrations, and application configurations.
- Experience with Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of database security, access management, and operational controls.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across different locations and time zones.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale healthcare, manufacturing, or enterprise environments.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud migration and transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle ODA and OVM platforms.
