Design & Specification: Oversee the design and installation of process piping, including chilled water systems, compressed air, hydraulic oil lines, and cooling water circuits essential.
Material Inspection: Select appropriate materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC/UPVC) based on pressure, temperature, and chemical compatibility. Inspect incoming materials (cross-check delivery notes with orders), verify certification labels. Perform or verify flow rate, pressure drop, and pump head calculations to ensure system efficiency.
Electrical Integration (Secondary Focus): Manage the electrical hook-ups for molding machines, ensuring power distribution units (PDU) and busway systems meet the specific load requirements of the machinery.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Electrical team to synchronize piping layouts with cable trays and electrical trunking to avoid spatial conflicts.
Project Management & Execution: Evaluate technical bids from subcontractors and suppliers for piping and electrical components.
Quality & Safety: Ensure all installations comply with Malaysian standards and international safety codes. Complete daily Site Diaries, recording weather, personnel, equipment, issues, and resolutions. Organize on-site photos/videos as evidence for quality and safety compliance.
Lead site inspections and pressure testing for piping systems and assist in electrical testing/commissioning (T&C).
Participate in internal and external meetings to propose efficiency improvements. Accompany government agencies (e.g., CIDB, JKR) during site visits and provide required documents.
Safety & Compliance Control: Verify workers hold valid CIDB Green Cards. Report high-risk activities (e.g., deep excavation) to the Safety Officer for documentation. Manage construction waste sorting (per Environmental Quality Act 1974), control dust and noise pollution.
