Role Overview
The Senior Post Silicon System Validation Engineer is responsible for leading systemlevel postsilicon validation, debug, and feature enablement for complex SoC and platform designs. This role requires strong crossfunctional collaboration, deep system knowledge across hardware, firmware, BIOS, drivers, and operating systems, and the ability to drive complex debug efforts from initial failure symptoms to rootcause resolution. The engineer is also expected to mentor junior engineers and continuously improve validation methodologies, tools, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive postsilicon systemlevel validation and feature enablement test plans.
- Validate interactions across multiple GPU SoC features and subsystems in complex data center configurations.
- Lead postsilicon debug efforts, performing systemlevel root cause analysis across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Demonstrate strong technical curiosity with the eagerness and ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies.
- Build, enhance, and maintain validation infrastructure, including automation frameworks, test tools, scripts, and laboratory setups.
- Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to understand new features and specifications, develop comprehensive systemlevel validation plans and documentation, and ensure coverage across hardware, firmware, and software feature interactions.
- Drive continuous improvements in postsilicon validation strategies, methodologies, and processes through technical innovation and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in daily execution, debug techniques, and technical problem solving, while leading key validation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with counterpart teams and provide clear execution status, risk assessment, and issue updates to program management.
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SoC validation, silicon bringup, or systemlevel debug.
- Proven experience leading postsilicon validation activities and driving triage across firmware, software, IP, SoC, and platform teams.
- Deep handson experience with systemlevel postsilicon validation and debug methodologies.
- Solid understanding of PC hardware components including CPU, GPU, chipset, memory, interconnects, and I/O devices, with familiarity in data center interconnect standards.
- Strong working knowledge and debug experience across the software stack, including BIOS, firmware, drivers, and operating systems.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in C, C++, and Python; Perl experience is a plus.
- Handson experience with laboratory equipment such as logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in crossfunctional and crosssite teams.
- Selfmotivated, selforganizing team player capable of multitasking and working effectively with minimal guidance.
