JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Pre-Contract Estimator (Electrical) is responsible for managing the estimation and tendering process for electrical works during the pre-contract phase of projects. This role ensures accurate cost planning, risk evaluation, and technical compliance in line with client requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems (LV, MV, HV), including lighting, power, cabling, fire alarms, ELV systems, etc.

Analyze and quantify electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.

Develop pre-tender cost plans and budgets based on concept or schematic designs.

Tendering & Bid Management

Lead and coordinate the preparation of electrical tender submissions, ensuring technical and commercial compliance.

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and competitive quotations.

Perform rate analysis and pricing strategies in alignment with market conditions.

Technical Review & Risk Analysis

Evaluate design documents for constructability and value engineering opportunities.

Identify and assess commercial and technical risks in tenders and propose mitigation measures.

Ensure estimates adhere to relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with design consultants, project managers, procurement teams, and clients during pre-contract phases.

Attend tender clarification meetings and site visits as needed.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and present tender reports, cost summaries, and comparison sheets.

Maintain a database of unit rates, material costs, and subcontractor performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimation, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems in construction.

Proficient in estimation system using MS Excel.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
