Senior Process Development and Optimization Expert (Specialty Oils & Fats Production)

Position Overview

Wilmar International is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Development and Optimization Expert to work with process improvements across our global specialty oils and fats factories. This is a senior individual-contributor role (no people management) that combines deep technical expertise in oils and fats processing with a strong focus on continuous improvement and process development.

As a trusted internal expert, you will be a partner with factory leadership to improve yield, efficiency and product quality through data-driven analysis and well-designed trials. You will influence outcomes through technical leadership and hands-on site support across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

In parallel, you will be involved in process development initiatives for specialty oils and fats, identifying and deploying new technologies and upgrading existing processes to ensure Wilmar remains at the forefront of technical excellence, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities – Process Optimization

• Serve as the Group's specialty oils and fats process expert and technical reference for factories and stakeholders globally.
• Design experiments and lead factory trials to improve yields, efficiency or product quality.
• Best practice sharing across the group's specialty oils and fat factories.

Key Responsibilities – New Process Development

• Monitor industry trends and emerging process technologies.
• Partner with suppliers and Academia to explore and develop new specialty oils and fat processes.
• Lead internal process development and optimization projects for specialty oils and fats.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of senior experience in specialty oils and fats processing.
• Demonstrated track record in process development, optimization, and plant trial execution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work across functions and cultures without formal authority; confident, engaging plant leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear technical documentation and deliver effective training.
