The Senior Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing both financial accounting and project financial control activities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Description
- Handle the full set of accounts including AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and lead month‑end and year‑end closing activities in a timely manner.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations, and internal control policies, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders, supporting audits and statutory filings.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and actual costs across all incoming orders and ongoing projects, ensuring financial discipline.
- Track project costs, variations, claims, and change orders, ensuring timely and accurate updates in the financial system.
- Perform project profitability analysis, identifying cost overruns, risks, and improvement opportunities, and providing actionable financial insights.
- Support project revenue recognition (e.g. percentage‑of‑completion method), including preparation and monitoring of WIP, unbilled revenue, accruals, and provisions.
- Ensure timely project billing, progress claims, and cash‑flow monitoring, working closely with project managers to support commercial outcomes.
- Prepare management and project reports, support budgeting and forecasting for business lines, drive process improvements, system enhancements, SOP documentation, and provide ad‑hoc financial support as required.
Profile
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in Construction or Manufacturing industry would be added advantage
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
