Job Description

Senior Project Engineer/ Deputy Project Manager (US MNC) leads and manages new product introduction (NPI), engineering projects, and customer projects from quotation, product development, and tooling through to production launch. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, in accordance with customer requirements, and in compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage NPI, engineering, and customer projects from quotation stage through product development, tooling, and production launch.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, tooling, process engineering, quality, and production to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review customer requirements and specifications to ensure project deliverables meet expectations.
  • Oversee tooling development and process engineering activities to ensure readiness for production.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and changes, escalating and resolving as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing standards, and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, timelines, and updates to management and customers.
  • Support quotation and costing activities for new projects and product development.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and NPI workflows.
  • Coordinate with customers on technical and project-related matters, building strong working relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in NPI, product development, tooling, process engineering, or project management.
  • Experience within plastic injection moulding, stamping, plating, assembly, or automotive manufacturing industries.
  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid technical knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection moulding, stamping, plating, assembly).
  • Strong understanding of tooling development and process engineering.
  • Good knowledge of quality and manufacturing standards (e.g., IATF16949, ISO9001, as applicable).
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and cross-functional team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in project management tools and MS Office.
