SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead engineering activities from concept to execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery. You will act as a technical authority, mentor junior engineers, and provide leadership across planning, design, verification, and on‑site execution.
This role requires deep engineering expertise, strong analytical skills, and hands‑on experience in heavy lifting, rigging, or specialized transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Engineering Design
- Serve as the technical Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned projects.
- Study, interpret, and analyze technical documentation; identify missing information and propose validated engineering solutions.
- Develop lifting plans, engineering calculations, drawings, rigging configurations, and method statements.
- Assign and validate equipment selections using Sarens global fleet of cranes and transport systems.
- Project Execution & Site Support
- Attend technical meetings, site inspections, and participate in on‑site work when required.
- Provide real‑time technical support to ensure safe and correct implementation during heavy lifting operations.
- Ensure all activities comply with Sarens SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards.
- Verification, Approval & Documentation
- Oversee conceptual approval and ensure all engineering documents follow internal approval workflows.
- Validate engineering deliverables in line with your senior competence level.
- Ensure proper documentation accuracy and storage according to the engineering guidelines.
- Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor junior engineers, share technical knowledge, and support internal training.
- Promote continuous improvement and lean engineering practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electromechanical, Maritime/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in heavy lifting, rigging, engineered transport, offshore, or marine project engineering.
- Strong knowledge of cranes, rigging methods, lifting equipment, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Office, and lifting/rigging design tools.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
