This role is responsible for overall execution of the turbo-expander system projects, which are essential for cryogenic plants. The Project Manager ensures customer contractual requirements are met ensuring customer satisfaction while managing interfaces with internal and external stakeholders (systems engineers, project engineers, sales, supply chain, suppliers, inspectors, financial control, etc)
Job Description
- End-to-End Project Management & Project Controls: Own the overall execution and profitability of packaged turbo expander skid projects. Rigorously manage project budgets, drive cost performance, maintain project schedules, and implement risk mitigation and change management strategies. Lead final project capitalization, capture lessons learned, develop and maintain KPIs, and deliver regular performance reporting and communications to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Technical Oversight & Compliance: Ensure all design, manufacturing, and integration of turbo expander units, auxiliary systems, and electrical/I&C diagrams strictly adhere to client contracts, industry specifications, and corporate governance.
- Engineering Coordination & Documentation: Partner with Turbo System Engineers to deliver key documentation (P&IDs, GA drawings, schematics) and guide teams with client requirement adherence through control philosophies, safety reviews (Hazops, PSV sizing), and equipment procurement. Engage with the Overall Design Authority for compliance and approval per project basis.
- Supply Chain & Manufacturing Management: Oversee the end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing lifecycle. Coordinate closely with procurement, vendors, and fabrication shops to ensure timely equipment delivery, optimize production schedules, and resolve manufacturing bottleneck issues to prevent project delays.
- Commercial & Business Support: Collaborate with Sales and Business teams on proposals (RFPs) and cost estimates, participating directly in technical and commercial clarifications with clients and vendors. Facilitate growth of AirLiquide's TurboExpander business
- Testing, Field Support & Safety Leadership: Model strict operational safety while coordinating Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), leading field troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis (RCA), site integration, start-up/commissioning and training.
- Industrial Management Systems: Responsible for compliance with the Industrial Management System (Air Liquide's system for risk/project execution/quality/process governance).
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering
- 10+ years overall experience in Project Engineering/Management
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Turbo machines packaging
- Strong mechanical / rotating equipment engineering knowledge with cryogenic and turboexpander industry.
- Understanding of P&ID's and basics of instrumentation and valves.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English language
- Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
- Knowledge of ASME pressure vessel, piping codes and relevant codes and standards for cryogenic application and relevant industry codes
- Ability to manage and influence others with a demonstrated capability to collaborate with people and organizations while delivering results
- Experience working with suppliers/packagers globally
- Proven ability to navigate intercultural work environments, manage conflicts constructively, and maintain flexibility in a dynamic team setting
- Availability to travel, including some globally, up to 40% on an annual basis
