Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the successful delivery of projects and programs within Chubb Business Services Malaysia
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned projects, overseeing end-to-end delivery.
- Proactively guide and de-risk project execution to ensure timely and efficient outcomes for the APAC region.
- Engage with business and IT stakeholders to deliver prioritized project results.
- Provide expert guidance on all aspects of project delivery.
- Ensure projects/programs are delivered according to plan, scope, and budget.
- Maintain high standards for documentation, system capability, and performance.
- Consult with internal and external teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and support project teams, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Shield teams from unnecessary distractions and remove obstacles to progress (e.g., stakeholder negotiations, leadership alignment, procurement issues).
- Spot and address potential risks or blockers before they impact delivery.
- Communicate a clear sense of direction and purpose to teams and stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of honesty, proactivity, and collaboration within IT and Operations delivery.
- Encourage creativity, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high morale, especially during challenging circumstances.
- Manage team dynamics and promote a positive, productive work environment.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build trust and maintain visibility with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
- Establish and maintain effective communication plans and regular team meetings.
- Demonstrate excellence in stakeholder engagement and support for other teams
Continuous Improvement
- Actively participate in agile and waterfall delivery communities, sharing best practices.
- Set and pursue ambitious quality targets.
- Champion process improvement initiatives and ensure best practices in governance, methodology, and technology application.
Qualifications
Mandatory Experience
- Proven experience leading business/operations projects in a regional or international organization.
- 1015 years experience in project management, business transformation, or related fields.
- Experience managing remote and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects with significant business impact.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Track record of driving process improvements and achieving business outcomes
Desired Experience
- Insurance domain knowledge and experience.
- Prince2/AMP Project Management or equivalent qualifications.
Qualifications & Training
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
- Additional management qualifications preferred.
