Senior project manager / Project Director for power plant projects (
Your Tasks
__Project Management__
- Define Project execution structure with clear allocation of technical team setup, budgeted efforts, and internal quality assurance/quality control interfaces
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of contracted scope and services, ensuring performance meets financial metrics, quality assurance, planning objectives, and client satisfaction
- Coordinate and integrate activities across project phases, including management of third-party contributors __Technical Leadership__
- Provide technical expertise in thermal power generation, including gas turbine, combined cycle, steam power plants, and emerging technologies such as cofiring new fuels and carbon capture
- Oversee the preparation of feasibility studies, conceptual design studies, Tender specs and technical due diligence assessments for thermal power plant projects
- Guide teams in EPC tendering, negotiations with contractors, IPP bidding projects, and power purchase agreement (PPA) negotiations __Team Leadership__
- Manage and lead large, multi-disciplinary teams of professionals across various project phases
- Ensure successful staffing of projects, including resources skill development. __Client Relations__
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to both internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Participate in proposal development, including engineering execution strategies, cost estimations, and client presentations
- Support business development activities by maintaining industry relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to strategic alliances
Your Profile- Higher professional degree in mechanical, process, or other relevant fields for power sector projects (M.Sc. or B.Sc.).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the power sector, with at least 5 years in project management roles
- Proven track record in managing consulting engineering projects, preferably with leading engineering companies in the thermal power sector in relation to preparation of power plant conceptual design studies, feasibility studies, lenders engineer and independent engineer projects, and technical due diligence assessments for acquisition of power plants
- In-depth knowledge of conventional power plant technologies, including gas turbine, combined cycle, and steam power plants
- Experience with waste-to-energy, biomass, or other alternative thermal power technologies
- Strong understanding of emerging trends in the power sector, including renewable integration and decarbonization strategies
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities
- Willingness to travel internationally for project sites and client meetings
- Much of the work involves writing reports in English language, so excellent English language skill is a must
- Able to handle multiple projects and multiple project managers simultaneously
- Leading the critical technical meetings with the clients
