About the Role
Sensible Solutions Engineering Sdn Bhd is looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior QA/QC Engineer to strengthen our project delivery team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining project quality requirements across our industrial construction, office fit-out, cleanroom, data hall, MEP and CSA projects.
This role requires someone who is not only strong in QA/QC documentation, but is also capable of identifying quality issues on site, coordinating inspections, working with project teams and subcontractors, and driving issues through to proper closure.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Quality Management
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with project specifications, client requirements and applicable standards.
- Establish project QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), checklists and quality control processes.
- Ensure all project activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant codes and standards.
- Maintain effective quality control throughout the project lifecycle from mobilization to testing, commissioning and final handover.
2. Site Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections for CSA, architectural, MEP and related construction works.
- Verify workmanship, installation quality and materials against approved specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate and raise Request for Inspection (RFI/WIR) with consultants and clients.
- Identify defects, non-conformance and potential quality risks before they affect project completion.
- Ensure corrective works are properly implemented and verified before closure.
- Conduct pre-handover inspections and support final quality walkdowns.
3. Material & Installation Compliance
- Review material submissions, technical data, samples and certificates for compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct incoming material inspections and ensure materials delivered to site meet approved specifications.
- Monitor proper storage, handling, installation and protection of materials and completed works.
- Ensure only approved materials and installation methods are used on site.
4. NCR & Corrective Action Management
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) where required.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers and subcontractors to identify root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor NCR, defect and punch-list status until satisfactory closure.
- Identify recurring quality issues and recommend improvements to prevent repetition.
5. Subcontractor Quality Management
- Monitor subcontractor workmanship and compliance with project quality requirements.
- Conduct quality briefings with site teams and subcontractors before critical activities.
- Ensure subcontractors understand approved drawings, method statements, ITP requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Drive subcontractors to rectify defective or non-compliant work promptly.
- Evaluate recurring workmanship issues and escalate significant quality concerns to Project Management.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate QA/QC requirements for Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities.
- Verify test reports, certificates, calibration records and commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate inspections and testing with project teams, consultants, clients and specialist contractors.
- Support preparation and closure of punch lists / defect lists.
- Ensure quality documentation is complete prior to project handover.
- Support compilation of As-Built Drawings, O&M Manuals, warranties, test reports and project close-out documentation.
7. QA/QC Documentation
- Maintain proper QA/QC records including:
- Project Quality Plan (PQP)
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
- Inspection Requests / WIR
- Material Inspection Records
- NCR & Corrective Action Reports
- Testing & Commissioning Records
- Calibration Certificates
- Quality Checklists
- Defect / Punch Lists
- Handover and Close-Out Records
- Ensure QA/QC documentation is properly controlled, traceable and readily available for client or consultant review.
8. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Represent Sensible Solutions in QA/QC inspections, meetings and quality-related discussions with clients and consultants.
- Coordinate inspection schedules and resolve quality-related comments professionally and promptly.
- Provide clear technical justification and supporting documentation where required.
- Maintain positive working relationships while protecting the company's contractual and technical position.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in construction, MEP, industrial facilities, fit-out or related projects.
- Experience in industrial / manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, data centres, semiconductor or high-tech projects will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction QA/QC procedures, ITP, inspection processes, NCR management and project close-out.
- Good understanding of MEP and/or CSA construction activities.
- Familiar with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to prepare professional reports and QA/QC documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common project/document management systems.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of project quality matters.
- Willing to work at project sites when required.
