Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Chemist to lead the development of innovative baby care, personal care, and skincare formulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product development from concept through commercialization.
The successful candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders including globalR&D, production, procurement, regulatory, product, and external suppliers to ensure efficient product development and successful market launches.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development
- Lead the formulation and optimization of innovative baby care, personal care, and skincare products.
- Identify new ingredient technologies and formulation improvements to enhance product performance and differentiation.
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges and guide junior R&D team members when required.
2. Project Management
- Manage multiple product development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Define project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time project completion.
- Provide clear communication and updates to internal stakeholders and management.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with global R&D, production, quality, procurement, regulatory, and product teams to support product development and launch.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the development process.
4. Manufacturing & Scale-Up
- Support the transition of formulations from lab scale to factory production.
- Work with production teams to resolve scale-up challenges and improve manufacturing consistency.
5. Raw Material & Supplier Management
- Evaluate and introduce new raw materials and technologies.
- Collaborate with suppliers to explore innovative ingredients and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.
6. Testing, Validation & Compliance
- Oversee stability testing, compatibility testing, and product performance evaluations.
- Ensure formulations comply with local and international regulatory requirements and support product claims.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of formulation development experience in cosmetics, personal care, or related industries
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic formulation, raw materials, and product stability
- Experience in product scale-up and manufacturing processes
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
- Strong project management and problem-solving ability
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Language
- Fluent in Chinese (reading and writing) is required
Training
