Here is where you will come in:
As a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical development of complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems and critical subsystems—from concept and architecture through design, verification, qualification, and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical development of complex systems or major subsystems.
- Translate system-level requirements into mechanical architecture and design specifications.
- Establish design concepts, critical interfaces, tolerances and engineering methodologies.
- Lead complex mechanical problem solving and root-cause investigations.
- Perform and review tolerance analysis, mechanism analysis and structural considerations.
- Establish design standards and reusable engineering solutions.
- Conduct technical design reviews and challenge engineering assumptions.
- Mentor Engineers and Advanced Engineers in mechanical design and problem solving.
- Review critical drawings, BOMs, calculations and design decisions.
- Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve difficult fabrication and assembly issues.
- Lead design verification and qualification of critical mechanical functions.
- Contribute to technology development and next-generation ATE platforms.
Technical Scope:
May own technically critical areas such as:
- High-pin-count docking systems
- Testhead mechanical architecture
- Precision alignment systems
- High-cycle mechanisms
- Large precision assemblies
- Thermal/mechanical integration
- Structural and vibration-sensitive assemblies
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Typically 6–10+ years relevant engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex products, systems, or critical subsystems.
- Strong expertise in mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Strong practical understanding of precision machining, sheet metal, plastics and assembly.
- Demonstrated experience solving difficult engineering problems.
- Able to communicate technical decisions clearly and defend engineering trade-offs.
- Semiconductor/ATE/automation/precision equipment experience strongly preferred.
