Senior Sales Executive (Forwarding / Logistics)

We are hiring on behalf of a well-established Japanese MNC logistics company with a strong global network specialising in airfreight, seafreight, warehousing, and international logistics solutions. The organisation has decades of operational excellence and a reputation for high-quality service across Asia, Europe, and the US.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Executive to drive business growth, develop key customer relationships, and support regional coordination across air and sea freight operations. This position is suitable for candidates with 35 years of forwarding experience, including those currently at Assistant Manager level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire new customers and manage existing accounts to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Prepare competitive quotations for airfreight, sea freight, trucking, and warehousing solutions.
  • Engage and negotiate with airlines, shipping lines, transporters, co-loaders, and NVOCCs.
  • Coordinate sales leads and enquiries with overseas offices and global partners.
  • Manage import routing orders and prepare shipping instructions for both air & sea shipments.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide regular sales reports, customer profiles, market intelligence, and debtor follow-ups.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets consistently.

Requirements

  • Minimum 35 years experience in the forwarding / logistics industry (air & sea).
  • Strong communication skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Mandarin-speaking candidates (Chinese preferred) to support specific market segments.
  • Independent, proactive, results-driven, and able to handle pressure professionally.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Pleasant personality with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Possess own transport and a valid driving licence.

Preferred (for AM-level candidates):

  • Experience guiding junior staff or handling bigger key accounts.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability.
  • Willing to travel when necessary.

Career Progression

High-performing candidates may be considered for progression into Assistant Manager roles, depending on experience and leadership capability.
