Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Manager with extensive technical and commercial expertise in the Personal Care and Home Care industry. This leadership role is responsible for driving business growth, managing strategic customer relationships, and leading a team of Sales Managers to achieve sales objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of ingredients and formulations, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in developing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and delivering sustainable business growth. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively balance team management, customer engagement, and strategic business development.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives for the Personal Care and Home Care business.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Managers, ensuring high performance, professional development, and succession planning.
  • Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the team and monitor progress regularly.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and growth strategies to expand the company's presence in the region.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets, sales forecasts, and business plans.

Team Management & Development

  • Manage, motivate, and develop a team of Sales Managers to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development discussions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Key Account & Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, principals, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Engage with key decision-makers to understand customer needs and provide value-added solutions.
  • Lead negotiations for major contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term partnerships.
  • Resolve complex customer issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Technical & Commercial Expertise

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Personal Care and Home Care ingredients, formulations, and market trends to provide technical and commercial guidance.
  • Partner with suppliers and technical teams to identify innovative solutions and new product opportunities.
  • Support customers with technical presentations, product recommendations, and application insights.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.

Market Intelligence & Business Development

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive activities, customer demands, and business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement market penetration strategies for existing and new product portfolios.
  • Collaborate with principals and suppliers to strengthen strategic partnerships and maximize business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings.

Performance & Reporting

  • Achieve and exceed sales, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, pipeline updates, and market analyses to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of sales experience within the Personal Care and/or Home Care ingredients industry.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience managing and developing a sales team.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable sales growth and achieving business targets.
  • Experience managing strategic accounts and principal relationships is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Personal Care and Home Care ingredients, formulations, applications, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to provide both technical and commercial solutions to customers.

Leadership Skills

  • Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong people management, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Communication & Business Acumen

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and business development capabilities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and senior management.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or certification in relevant areas is a plus.
