Role Overview & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Corporate Lead Product Manager, this role is responsible for designing, delivering, and governing scalable Salesforce solutions across the organisation.

  • Design and implement complex Salesforce solutions using Apex (triggers, batch, queueable, REST/SOAP), Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura where required.
  • Architect and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external platforms (e.g. ERP, middleware, data warehouses) using REST APIs, Platform Events, and Change Data Capture.
  • Develop scalable frameworks using custom metadata, dynamic SOQL, and schema-driven designs.
  • Lead CI/CD and release management using Salesforce DX, Gearset/Copado, Git, and Azure DevOps, including sandbox strategy and deployment best practices.
  • Enforce coding standards through code reviews, performance optimisation, and test coverage (≥85%), while mentoring junior developers.
  • Design and implement Flow automations as a first-choice solution before Apex where appropriate.
  • Manage Salesforce configuration and security, including profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules, licences, connected apps, SSO, OAuth, and MFA.
  • Configure and maintain objects, page layouts, record types, validation rules, and formula fields.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs for sales, service, and operational stakeholders.
  • Produce technical design documentation, solution architecture diagrams, and data models.
  • Support Agile delivery through sprint ceremonies, release planning, UAT, and stakeholder workshops.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex technical concepts into clear business language and contributing to Salesforce governance and roadmap planning.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience with strong expertise in Apex, LWC, and SOQL.
  • Proven experience delivering Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Workato, webMethods, or Boomi.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Salesforce DX, Gearset, or Copado, and Git-based version control (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bitbucket).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, object relationships, external IDs, and large data volume (LDV) considerations.
  • Solid experience using Salesforce Flow and declarative automation to reduce custom code.
  • 3+ years of Salesforce administration experience in complex or multi-business-unit orgs.
  • Deep knowledge of the Salesforce security model (profiles, permission sets, OWD, sharing rules, FLS).
  • Experience administering connected apps, OAuth flows, SSO (SAML/OIDC), and MFA.
  • Proficiency with data management and troubleshooting tools (Data Loader, Workbench, Salesforce Inspector).
  • Experience managing AppExchange packages and third-party integrations.
  • Exposure to Experience Cloud, Einstein Analytics, or Revenue Cloud / CPQ is advantageous.
  • Background in solutions consulting or client-facing technical roles is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP (SAP), ServiceNow, or Workday is a plus.
