Your Mission
- Conduct research and develop innovative solutions using molecular biology, genomics, genetics, bioinformatics, and emerging technologies to enhance products and services for oil palm and other crops.
- Plan, design, execute, analyze research projects, interpret insights, troubleshoot issues, and report findings to drive new outputs, improved products, and refined procedures related to oil palm and other crops.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret molecular, genomic, genetic, and phenotypic data using advanced bioinformatics, quantitative genetics analysis and statistical tools to support trait improvement in oil palm and other crops.
- Contribute to scientific publications, intellectual property (IP), and peer-reviewed papers, demonstrating creativity, technical expertise and independent thinking.
- Develop research proposals aligned with company goals and support programme and project leaders in achieving key deliverables.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Assist in managing laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting of key instruments.
- Ensure compliance with safety and biosafety standards, including documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions and HIRACs.
- Assist in budget planning, resource management and monitoring for assigned project clusters.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate research progress and outcomes internally and externally.
Ideal Candidates
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in Plant Biotechnology, Biomolecular Sciences, Plant Genetic Engineering, Plant Genetics or a related scientific discipline, with relevant research or working experience.
- Fresh Doctorate (with required critical skills, research experience and good publication record), or
- Master's Degree with min 1-year relevant working experience in laboratory or research (with required critical skills and with experience in publication), or
- Bachelor's Degree with min 2 years relevant working experience in laboratory or research (with required critical skills and with relevant experience in publication)
- Minimum 1 year experience in R&D for Doctorate holder
