Responsibilities
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), be a beacon of our core values: excellence and innovation by blending aspects of software engineering and operations to achieve high availability, performance, and reliability of bpʼs core applications and platforms. The main objective of an SRE is to automate operational processes and create scalable and highly reliable software systems. In this role, you won't just be maintaining systems; you'll be shaping the future of platform engineering, reflecting the excellence and innovation that embody our core values.

Technical Skills We Need From You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes and be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, especially with software engineers, platform engineers, platform operations engineers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate challenges and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Software Expertise
- Capable in C# programming, specializing in developing cross-platform solutions that are efficient and scalable
- Skillful in developing, debugging, and maintaining Python scripts specifically for platform engineering tasks, including infrastructure automation, system configuration, and integration of cloud services. Familiarity with Python libraries relevant to system administration and DevOps practices is essential.
- Dedication to crafting secure, robust, and maintainable code, reflecting contemporary best practice
Infrastructure Mastery
- Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure services
- Demonstrable experience in cloud scalability, observability, and troubleshooting
Operations Experience
- Minimum two years experience in application development or support
- Ability to quickly adapt to new operational challenges, leveraging problem-solving skills to ensure the platform remains operational
- Unwavering dedication to operational excellence, especially in high-pressure situations
