Your mission

As a Senior Software Developer / Software Developer in our Finago Office product line, you will be a key contributor in a product team with full responsibility for its part of the solution; from idea and development to production and operations. You'll work closely with your teammates to build reliable, scalable systems that customers depend on every day.

You'll join a modern engineering environment with a strong focus on quality, ownership, and learning. Autonomous teams work with short decision paths, and you'll work with modern automation frameworks and tools while having the opportunity to influence the quality practices of the products you build.

You will become part of our growing +20-person Finago KL team, which includes roles such as Tech Leads, Senior Software Developers, Software Developers, and Test Automation Engineers. You'll work in close collaboration with colleagues across our Nordic offices in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, operating as one distributed engineering team.

Your key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Developing robust, scalable backend services and APIs
• Contributing to technical design decisions and architectural discussions within the team
• Writing high-quality code with strong test coverage and a focus on security
• Actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions
• Collaborating closely with the Tech Lead, Product Manager, Design, and QA
• Continuously improving development processes, tools, and workflows

This is a permanent, full-time hybrid-model position located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KLCC Common Ground). We are currently working in a co-working space, but we are looking for an office near our current location. The move is expected to take place later this year.

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer / Software Developer who enjoys taking responsibility and thinking beyond individual tasks. To succeed in this role, we believe you:

• Have several years of experience as a software developer, with strong backend expertise (senior level) or solid hands-on experience (developer level)
• Enjoy understanding how systems fit together, not just solving isolated tickets
• Take ownership of quality, stability, and long-term maintainability
• Share knowledge, give constructive feedback, and contribute positively to the team

Depending on the product, you'll work with technologies such as:

• TypeScript / Node.js, C# .NET, Go
• Relational databases and NoSQL
• Microservices and distributed systems
• Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps tooling
• Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
