We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to help design, build, and scale the backend systems that power customerfacing products. This role is suited for an experienced engineer with deep backend expertise, strong system design skills, and a track record of owning production systems in cloud environments.
What We're Looking For:
- 5-10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend experience building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Extensive experience with Node.js or similar backend frameworks.
- Solid experience designing and consuming APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Working knowledge of React.js to support fullstack collaboration.
- Experience running cloudbased systems in production (AWS preferred).
Nice to Have:
- GraphQL in production environments
- Infrastructure, DevOps, or platform experience (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Experience working on largescale platforms, SaaS products, or marketplaces
- Previous experience leading technical initiatives or acting as a technical owner
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build backend services that support core product and platform capabilities.
- Architect and implement APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Own systems endtoend, from design and development to deployment and production operations.
- Drive backend and platform architecture decisions across services, data, and integrations.
- Design and evolve data models to support performance, scale, and longterm maintainability.
- Improve system reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability risks in production systems.
- Improve delivery and operational practices through CI/CD and DevOps enhancements.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to backend and platform engineering standards.
