About the Job
A skilled and proactive Middleware Systems Engineer to manage and support our enterprise messaging, API and file transfer platforms. This role is critical to ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing integration services across our organization, with a strong focus on high-availability, security, and operational excellence.
- Install, configure, and maintain integration products environments for high-availability and disaster recovery.
- Design and implement backup strategies and recovery procedures.
- Onboard new services and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Monitor system performance and availability, responding to incidents and resolving issues promptly.
- Apply periodic updates and security patches in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and communicate technical solutions effectively.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and operational standards
- Responsible to liaise and integrate with Project Managers to ensure coherent delivery plan
- Ensure compliance to both Group IT and Corporate principles and policies
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
We are looking for people who
- Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in middleware administration or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, API Gateway and Managed File Transfer in enterprise environments will be a plus
- Strong understanding of high-availability architecture and backup/recovery planning.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and security patching processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a strong advantage.
- Experience in managing new build, upgrade and package implementation projects
- Experience in managing BAU production systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
