Senior Software Engineer (JAVA)

Overview:

This is an opportunity to directly work in a public sector company. The successful candidate will lead important projects and possesses capability to make breakthroughs in design, development, testing, debugging and implementing software applications or specialised utility programs in support of end users needs on platforms. The team will be involved in planning and coordinating regular updates and recommends improvements to existing applications. The team identifies and resolves issues which have organisation wide and long-term impact.

Responsibilities:

• Support project manager or product owner on project or product planning
• Translate business requirements into technical architectures & detail solution
• Assess and validate solution and infrastructure feasibility in hybrid cloud environment and compliance to IT policy
• Design application architecture including the integration with external systems
• Develop the detail design of the core application components and be creative in exploring a range of application designs and solutions
• Ensure the application has robust design and security protection
• Does hands-on coding and coach internal development team on design and coding
• Work with relevant DevOps engineer for Release management and deployment of application releases
• Provide guidance and technical support to testing and quality assurance teams

Requirements:

• Must have either Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• 8 to 14 years of relevant work experience in software product development and life cycle
• Strong experience in API design and implementation
• Experience in application architecture design and database design
• Hands-on development experience for Frontend & Backend application (Java & ReactJS)
• Approach design and development of solution with the mind set of software product development
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Experience in AWS or Azure
• Experience in Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD
• Experience in Microservices design and development will be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience in application design patterns
• Proactive and meticulous
