About The Role
We are looking for a Senior eCommerce Engineer with strong Shopify expertise to join our team and help deliver high-performing, scalable commerce experiences for leading brands.
In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimising Shopify-based solutions across the full commerce lifecycle. You'll work closely with product, design, and delivery teams to build modern eCommerce experiences while ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
This is a hands-on engineering role with strong influence over architecture, implementation, and best practice development across Shopify ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Shopify and Shopify Plus eCommerce solutions.
- Build and customise Shopify themes using Liquid, Shopify templates, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Develop custom storefront experiences using React, Node.js, and TypeScript where required.
- Implement and maintain Shopify APIs, integrations, and third-party services.
- Work closely with UX designers, delivery leads, and product teams to scope, estimate, and deliver features.
- Optimise site performance, conversion, and user experience across storefronts.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, including headless commerce approaches where appropriate.
- Ensure code quality, documentation, and maintainability across GitHub repositories and internal systems.
- Support and mentor engineers within the team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience building eCommerce solutions using Shopify or Shopify Plus.
- Proven expertise working with Shopify Liquid, Shopify theme architecture, and Shopify templates.
- Strong JavaScript skills with experience in React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Experience integrating with Shopify APIs and third-party commerce systems.
- Solid understanding of modern eCommerce architecture and best practices.
- Experience working with headless commerce or headless CMS platforms (e.g. Sanity, Storyblok).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP for deployments and infrastructure.
- Experience working with Git-based workflows and modern development tooling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
