About the Company

We are searching for a talented and dependable Sous Chef to be part of our team in Sungai Buloh. Our catering company specializes in corporate events and weddings throughout the Klang Valley.

About the Role

This position does not involve hotel plating; instead, it requires hands-on production work, large-scale cooking, meeting strict deadlines, and consistently delivering high-quality food every time. If you thrive under pressure, can lead a small team, and are willing to take charge when necessary, we would love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
  • Prepare and manage large-scale cooking for corporate and wedding catering events
  • Ensure uniformity in flavor, serving sizes, and presentation for all meals
  • Oversee and mentor kitchen staff to ensure a seamless workflow
  • Uphold hygiene, cleanliness, and halal compliance standards at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock, and minimize food waste
  • Organize kitchen timing to guarantee food readiness in accordance with event schedules
  • Take on the leadership role in the kitchen when the Head Chef is not present

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of kitchen experience
  • Experience in Indian cuisine is highly preferred
  • Experience in catering or high volume production kitchen is an advantage

Required Skills

  • Able to work 6 days a week and on weekends when required
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Responsible, disciplined and punctual
  • Able to handle pressure and tight timelines

Pay range and compensation package

RM3,000 - RM4,000 (Depends on experience)
