About The Role
We are looking for a knowledgeable
Senior Specialist, Data Protection to join RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business units on data privacy matters, lead the execution of data protection assessments, and support the Group in maintaining a robust data protection framework in line with PDPA 2024 requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and embedding a culture of data privacy across the organization.
What You Will Be Doing
- Act as a trusted advisor to business units on the interpretation and application of PDPA 2024.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Review new products, services, systems, and processes for data privacy risks and advise on appropriate mitigations.
- Support the DPO in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing the Group's data protection framework, policies, and procedures.
- Lead detailed audits and assessments of data processing activities.
- Manage and investigate suspected or actual personal data breaches and assist with breach notification requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of the personal data breach register.
- Support cross-functional teams in ensuring compliance with PDPA principles, including data minimization and retention.
- Design and deliver targeted data protection training to staff at various levels.
- Develop and run data privacy awareness campaigns.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on Group operations.
- Conduct periodic internal compliance reviews and support reporting to management and the Personal Data Protection Commissioner.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on complex data privacy matters.
- Provide guidance on responding to Data Subject Access Requests and exercising enhanced rights under PDPA 2024.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the CoE Lead, Group Regulatory Compliance and Data Protection.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of data protection principles and the PDPA 2024.
- Experience in conducting DPIAs, audits, and privacy risk assessments.
- Proven ability to manage personal data breaches and compliance reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in delivering training and awareness programs on data protection.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advisory capabilities.
