Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Succession & Talent Management is responsible for the full deployment of succession management and coordination of activities with various stakeholders in ensuring the company's continued development and implementation of talent management strategies across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities

Succession Planning

  • Ensure that the organisation's bench strength's goal is consistently achieved
  • Assist in communications to stakeholders on succession planning processes and policy
  • Ensure smooth operation of matters related to succession management, including planning, implementation, monitoring and follow-up actions
  • Work closely with senior management to identify potential key roles/jobs to determine the need of successors and identify current incumbents in mission-critical and key positions
  • Work closely with managers and the identified successors to implement the succession planning programme based on experience and competencies
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and monitor development strategies for identified talents of the organisation
  • Monitor and report on the competencies gap of successors and effectiveness of the development strategies implemented
  • Monitor the progress of the company-wide succession planning programme, and highlight programme adjustments if needed. Prepare progress reports on a periodic basis
  • Provide professional advice to Managers on succession planning and management matters
  • Manage related budgets and forecast current and future costs. Advice on the right course of action (for effectiveness, and cost-saving/avoidance) and maximise the ROI for development strategies/programmes
  • Lead, plan, organise and motivate staff to ensure high work quality and productivity

Talent Management

  • Develop framework, assess, and drive competency management initiatives - core, technical, leadership competencies required by the organisation to achieve its goals
  • Develop internal talent using performance evaluation, succession planning processes and by identifying training needs of employees to increase productivity
  • Collaborate with key work partners to identify, develop, and drive competency-based learning and development initiatives that build functional and leadership capabilities

Job Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology or other relevant field
  • Possesses a minimum of 6 years experience in Human Resources, with minimum 3 years specifically focused on Talent Management or Succession Planning
  • Holds deep understanding of developing and driving core, technical, and leadership competency initiatives
  • Proficient in identifying bench strength, mission-critical roles, and high-potential (HiPo) talent
  • Experienced in designing competency-based learning and development initiatives to bridge performance gaps
  • Able to manage departmental budgets, forecast costs, and calculate ROI for talent programs
  • Displays exceptional communication skills to provide professional advice to senior management and influence stakeholders across the organization
  • Capable to align talent management strategies with the overall long-term development goals of the company
