Duties and Responsibilities

To provide Structural and Foundation Engineering Design on various types of projects that you are assigned. This can include commercial buildings, offices, mixed-use development projects, warehouses, and villas to name a few. To be competent in designing in reinforcedconcrete and steel according to the BS or Euro Code and provide structural design report and construction drawings.

Knowledge in the following design will be taken as a big consideration in favour of your application as a Design Engineer at ZAB:

i) Masonry Design

ii) Post Tensioning Design

iii) Bridge Design

iv) Geotechnical & Foundation Design using PLAXIS 3D

v) Earthquake Design

vi) Performance Based Design

Value Engineering Design

Furnished a full structural plan and detailed drawings according to the design results coordinated with the Architectural and M&E drawings for authority submission and approval. This can be done with the help of structural draftsmen, so you are expected to manage the CAD draughting team

Throughout the course of the above duties, you are also in charge of liaison with the Clients, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Governmental Authorities, and other related authorities and project follow-up and approval.

Although we have Resident Engineers available at the site, sometimes you need to visit sites to address design-related issues, carry out site inspections and monitors quality to ensure that the contractor met the standard of construction with compliance to approved construction drawings.

Requirements

• Candidates must posses at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Operating Knowledge and working experience in PROTA, ETABS, ESTEEM, RAM STRUCTURE, AUTOCAD, MS OFFICE and MS PROJECT(Advantage)
• Those with geotechnical and foundation design experience including the use of PLAXIS software are added advantage.
• Candidates are expected to be able to do letter and report writing, prepare design calculations, design report and documentation or presentation if required by client.
• Proficient in both verbal and written English & Bahasa Malaysia.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Design engineer in the related field. (Candidate for 5 years experience and below will not be considered)
• The ability to start immediately or soonest is another added advantage.
