As we expand into the Malaysian market, we are seeking a Senior Trade Marketing Manager who will play a pivotal role in developing strategic trade initiatives and leading execution across categories and channels to drive commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trade Strategy & Category Planning
- Lead the development of medium-term trade strategies for key product categories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and brand positioning.
- Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to identify strategic growth opportunities within trade channels.
- Translate national brand plans into channel-specific strategies and category activation programs.
2. Data-Driven Promotion & Budget Management
- Drive effective collaboration with Marketing and Sales teams to design pricing architecture, trade promotions, and channel activations tailored for modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce.
- Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring spend efficiency and alignment with ROI targets.
- Build promotional frameworks based on solid data analysis and post-campaign evaluations.
3. Sales Alignment & Market Execution
- Act as the key liaison between Trade Marketing, Sales, and Category teams to ensure seamless execution of in-store campaigns, availability, visibility, and sell-out strategies.
- Coordinate with field sales teams and key accounts to customize and implement promotional plans that align with shopper behavior and regional market dynamics.
- Lead the development and distribution of POSM materials and ensure on-time, in-full execution.
4. Performance Evaluation & Market Intelligence
- Monitor promotion effectiveness, track trade KPIs, and generate regular performance reports to assess the impact on sales uplift and ROI.
- Consolidate and share market intelligence and insights with internal stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making and refine trade approaches.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset through performance reviews, feedback loops, and benchmarking best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- 6-10 years of experience in Trade Marketing, Sales Operations, or Key Account Management within the FMCG industry.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience working closely with sales teams and external retail partners.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale promotional budgets and evaluate campaign effectiveness through data-driven insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data tools; experience with Nielsen, Kantar, or retail audit data is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working in a matrix and fast-paced environment.
