Job Description

We are hiring for one of our portfolio companies.

As part of the evolution of a prominent portfolio company, an experienced, well-rounded Senior UI/UX Designer is required to drive user experience optimization across its digital platforms. Operating as the strategic backbone of the design function, this high-impact role offers a vast canvas for creative freedom and innovative methodologies to maximize interface efficiency and user satisfaction.

The Company

Our portfolio company is an established digital publisher that builds and operates a category-leading digital platform with a massive, high-engagement global user base. The company maintains an established regional footprint across key hubs in Southeast Asia and South Asia. The business promotes a closely-knit, collaborative environment built on meritocracy, diversity, and inclusion.

The Role

You will be responsible for crafting a seamless, lightning-fast browsing experience, troubleshooting platform bugs, and designing smart ad placements that drive revenue without disrupting the user journey.

Unlike traditional design positions with siloed responsibilities, this role grants end-to-end ownership of the entire product design lifecycle. It presents a rare opportunity to shape a category-leading global digital platform and directly influence a product that defines its industry segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Smart Ad Integration: Design non-intrusive, native, and responsive ad placements that maximize monetization while protecting core content integrity.
  • Performance Optimization: Collaborate with engineering to ensure site layouts load rapidly and function flawlessly across all devices.
  • Frictionless Journeys: Optimize navigation menus, page routing, and CTAs to elevate user retention, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Behavioral Analysis: Conduct end-to-end user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to deeply understand our audience.
  • Platform Debugging: Actively monitor, identify, and troubleshoot user-facing bugs (e.g., layout shifts, broken elements) using session recordings and customer feedback.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze website analytics, heatmaps, and A/B test results to turn raw data into concrete, actionable design improvements.
  • End-to-End Design: Create high-fidelity wireframes, detailed user flows, and interactive prototypes to define product functionality.
  • UI Design & Systems: Build and scale our unified design system, ensuring consistent typography, color palettes, and accessible component libraries.
  • Cross-Platform Accessibility: Apply responsive design best practices so our web and mobile experiences are accessible to everyone.
  • Bridge the Gap: Clearly articulate complex design choices, user journeys, and technical trade-offs to stakeholders, PMs, and developers.
  • Technical Feasibility: Work hand-in-hand with software engineers to ensure proposed designs and bug fixes are practical to build.
  • Iterative Design: Drive fast-paced feedback loops, incorporate constructive critiques, and deliver production-ready assets seamlessly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role (experience with ad-supported platforms or e-commerce is a huge plus).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your research process, clean UI design, and problem-solving capabilities (specifically around complex layouts or monetization frameworks).
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and research tools (e.g., Figma, Hotjar, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Maze).
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and web performance constraints to better collaborate with engineering.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; a highly collaborative mindset with an appetite for iterative problem-solving.
