Job Purpose
The Head of AI & Data Intelligence in Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (PMB) is a leadership position responsible for guiding the development and implementation of robust data analytics,architecture and engineering solutions. This role involves overseeing the entire data lifecycle, including storage, integration, consumption, and management. The Team Lead is crucial in recommending and establishing standards and best practices, ensuring that the team of Data Analysts (Business Intelligence), and both Data Engineers and AI/ML Engineers are adhering to industry-leading approaches. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Cloud and other Cloud Technology Platforms is essential for success in this role in line with PMB's Data Driven Organization (DDO) Objectives.
Key Accountabilities
1.Architectural Design and Strategy:
- Lead the design and development of scalable and efficient data architecture solutions tailored to the specific needs of PMB's Data Driven Organization (DDO).
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with PMB's DDO's goals and industry standards.
2.Standardization and Best Practices:
- Recommend and establish standardized practices for data storage, integration, and consumption, ensuring consistency and reliability across projects.
- Define and enforce best practices for data engineering and architecture, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
3.Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead a team of data engineers and data scientists, providing mentorship, guidance, and support for their professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
4.Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within AI & Data Intelligence, including Business Units(Bus), to understand data requirements and align data architecture with PMB's DDO's objectives.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between data architecture and engineering, and other departments within the organization.
5.Communication and Presentation Skills:
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Present data architecture and engineering strategies and solutions in a clear and understandable manner.
6.Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development and execution of a long-term data strategy aligned with business objectives, anticipating and preparing for future data needs in the transportation industry.
Academic / Professional Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Years of Experience
Possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data engineering and architecture, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Functional Competencies
- Demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing scalable and efficient data architectures for complex systems (experience in the transportation industry will be an added-advantage)
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address business challenges through effective data solutions.
Technology Knowledge
- Showcase proficiency in Microsoft Azure Cloud services and architecture, with hands-on experience in implementing solutions on the platform.
- Stay informed about developments in Cloud Technology Platforms beyond Azure, adapting to emerging technologies as necessary.
