Job Description:

  • Develop and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR).
  • Review and interpret project specifications, IFC drawings, and client requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as:
  • DNV OS C 401, BS EN 15614, AWS D1.1, ASME Sec. IX, NORSOK M 101, ISO etc,
  • Provide technical guidance for structural, piping, and pressure-containing welds.
  • Monitor welding activities for jackets, topsides, modules, piles, and subsea structures.
  • Support fit-up, welding sequence planning, and distortion control strategies.
  • Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and NDT teams to resolve welding issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and supervise welder qualification tests (WQT).
  • Maintain welder performance records and continuity logs.
  • Oversee consumable control, storage, and traceability systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with project ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
  • Interface with third-party inspectors and client representatives.
  • Review NDT reports (RT, UT, MT, PT) and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Support project schedules by aligning welding activities with construction milestones.
  • Participate in technical meetings with engineering, procurement, and client teams.
  • Assist in cost estimation related to welding activities

Essential Requirement:

  • IWE as per ISO 14731 certification (mandatory),
  • Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline (Mandatory)
  • Exposure in DNV-OS-C401, EN 15614 (Mandatory)
  • CSWIP 3.2.2 or equivalent certification is an advantage
  • Minimum 10–15 years of welding engineering experience. ISO9712-Level II Prefer
  • At least 5–7 years in offshore platform fabrication (jackets, topsides, or modules). Experience working in large fabrication yards.
